NP Brings Home Five Golds at Don Bader Invite

The North Platte Bulldog track and field teams competed at the Don Bader Invite in Lexington on Thursday and brought home five individual titles from the meet. While team scores were not released, North Platte had solid finishes in most events including two girl’s gold titles.

Kathy Mathieu finished in first in the girl’s 100 meter dash, finishing at 13.0. Teammate Peyton Neff won the girl’s triple jump as well, landing at 34-11.25, good for gold.

On the boy’s side for North Platte, Joel Bradley won the 1600 meter fun finishing in a time of 4:50.77. Elliot Purdy continued his domination of throwing events, winning both the boy’s discus and shot put. His longest throw in discus was 160-00, edging teammate Joey Larson who threw 158-01. Purdy also won the shot with at throw of 51-09.75, more than an inch ahead of second place.

The North Platte track and field teams will travel to the Holdrege Invite next on August 27th.
