The Chamber of Commerce and several downtown business owners gathered at Cinda’s Accents Art, Framing and Unique Boutique on Jeffers Street, where a ribbon cutting gave the opening of downtown free of construction. Maybe not an official holiday but a great reason to gather and converse with business owners. Merchants are excited about the advice on the facades, some are taking steps on their own to begin the process. Shop local Saturday, Kids fun fest at the Patty Birge Room, Soup Cook-Off on a Tuesday, Thursday Nights many local merchants will stay open to 8:00pm. Carriage rides will be available on special days downtown. There will be the annual North Pole at Cody Park opening the displays immediately after Thanksgiving. North Platte will be the place to spend the holidays, activities for the kids, adults and families will be available.
