Huskeradio is proud to announce the hiring of long-time West-Central Nebraska broadcaster Corey Andersen to their staff. Andersen will become the News Director, along with becoming the voice of Huskeradio’s Game of the Week sports broadcasts. He will also host KODY’s “Mugs in the Morning,” which airs weekdays from 8-9 AM.
Andersen, a Lincoln, NE native began his broadcasting career with a degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1986. He then moved to Sidney, NE, where he worked for KSID for four years, covering area sports in the region.
In 1991 he began working at KOGA/KMCX in Ogallala and continued their until 2024. While at KOGA/KMCX, he hosted the popular mid-day trade show, “Swap Shop” and “Midwest Opinions.” He also covered thousands of broadcasts with area high school sports through his time. Most recently, he was the News Director at KBBN/KCNI in Broken Bow.
Huskeradio Operations Manager Tanner Struckman says the hire was a no-brainer.
“Getting a veteran broadcaster like Corey was simply a best-option scenario for us. Corey has handled nearly every duty in radio during his career and done it at a high level for a long time and we are excited to have him join our group. He will step in immediately with familiarity with the region, but also our listeners will recognize his name and voice from his time in the area.”
Andersen’s first day with Huskeradio will be Monday, March 3rd.
