
North Platte, Neb. – Four North Platte Community College women’s basketball players were selected for postseason awards after a historic 2024-25 season.
Jada Thompson, Nevaeh Golden, and EmmaJo Locks were selected for the All-Region IX team. Neveah Golden and Thompson were also selected for the Nebraska Community College Athletic Conference team alongside Kateria Gooden.
Jada Thompson played in all 35 games and scored in double digits 20 times during the 2024-25 campaign. The sophomore forward ranked fourth in Region IX in field goal percentage (38.9) and fifth in points per game with an average of 10.6. She was also ninth in rebounds per game with a total of 176.
This season, Neveah Golden earned rankings in several categories within the region, including fourth in free throw percentage (65.2%) and eighth in field goal percentage (30.9%) in 30 appearances.
EmmaJo Locks started 33 games while averaging 3.2 steals, 2.7 assists 5.2 rebounds per contest, teammate Katerina Gooden totaled 202 rebounds to rank sixth in the region and eighth with 10 blocks.
At the conclusion of the season, Jeff Thurman earned his fifth Region IX Coach of the Year accolade after leading his team to an unblemished record against DII Region IX teams and his third NCCAC Coach of the Year honor. Under his leadership, the Knights notched their first-ever NJCAA National Tournament victory in program history.
