Christopulos, Mondi Garner CGA Weekly Accolades

Nebraska’s Taylor Christopulos and Chase Mondi both received weekly accolades following Tuesday’s conference matchup against Ohio State where they took home a share of the Big Ten Regular-Season Conference title and set a top-three overall team score in NU program history (418.200). Taylor Christopulos was named CGA Gymnast of the Week and Chase Mondi was named CGA Freshman of the Week, announced by the College Gymnastics Association Wednesday morning.
Taylor Christopulos competed in five events against Ohio State, where his performance was highlighted by a personal-best score of 14.05 on high bar, earning a third-place finish. The captain also helped the squad set two season high team scores on pommel horse and floor, with pommel horse being a program record for Nebraska (71.70). Christopulos earned sixth on floor (14.05), seventh on pommel horse (13.95), fifth on vault (14.50), sixth on parallel bars.
Competing in every meet this season, Chase Mondi secured a solid 14.35 on vault landing in eighth overall, and a personal best score of 14.60 on floor in third place and a season high event score on floor for the Huskers.
Ohio State’s Parker Thackston earned CGA Event Specialist of the Week.
The Huskers will return to competition to compete for a chance at the conference championship title for the NCAA Big Ten Championships on Friday and Saturday April 5-6.
