Steinforth Claims Big Ten Weekly Award

Till Steinforth earned the Big Ten Men’s Field Athlete of the Week honor on Wednesday, announced by the conference office.

In his first time competing in the heptathlon this season, Steinforth topped the standings at the competitive Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational over the weekend with 6,097 points, ranking second in the NCAA. Entering Saturday, Steinforth had 3,452 points after winning the 60m (6.80) and long jump (25-0 3/4, 7.64m) portions on Friday. He added solid shot put (46-8 1/4, 14.23m) and high jump (6-6, 1.98m) marks to put him in good position entering the final day.
