Spence Claims Floor Title at Gymnova Cup

Nebraska gymnast Emma Spence earned a gold medal in the floor event at the Gymnova Cup in Keerbergen, Belgium, on Sunday.

Spence posted a total score of 13.267 in the event to take first. Her fellow Team Canada members Aaliyah De Sousa (12.433) and Maddison Hajjar (12.367) placed second and third, respectively. Spence scored a 13.100 in the preliminary rounds on Saturday to qualify her for the finals.

The rising junior also qualified for the finals in the vault after notching a score of 13.733 on Saturday. She finished fifth in the finals on Sunday with a score of 12.434. Annabelle Burrows of Team Australia grabbed the gold (12.834).

In Saturday’s all-around, Spence earned a second-place finish with an overall score of 51.000.
