More area district track and field was held on Thursday, with area athletes punching their tickets to state next week.
In the C8 meet at Ord, Maxwell girls finished in 10th and the Wildcat boy’s came in sixth. Dalton Whisenhunt led the way for Maxwell, winning the 100 meter dash.
The C9 meet was held in Sutherland on Thursday, with Chase County winning the team titles. Sutherland girls came in third while Hershey finished in fifth. On the boy’s side, the roles were reversed with the Panthers coming in third and Sailors fifth.
Individually, Hershey’s Matthew Bruns won the 3200 meter run while teammate Samuel Frame won high jump. Sutherland was led by Jon Peterka, who easily won the pole vault.
