Huskers Shut Out Jayhawks on Saturday

The Nebraska soccer team defeated the Kansas Jayhawks by a score of 2-0 on Saturday at the Barbara Hibner Stadium. The Huskers had 10 shots on goal to KU’s seven.

NU gained its 2-0 advantage after the first period, as the team notched two goals on three shots. Abbey Schwarz put the ball in the back of the net at the 6:05 mark with an assist from Ella Rudney, and Rudney scored a goal of her own with 2:36 left in the period.

The second 30 minutes of the game was evenly matched, as both teams took two shots on goal but failed to find the net. The Big Red maintained its 2-0 lead going into the last period.

Neither team scored in the final 30 minutes, and Nebraska came out with the 2-0 victory.
