March 15, 2024 (Lincoln, Neb.) — Weather permitting, work will begin on March 25 on N-8, west of
Reynolds, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
United Contractors, Inc. of Johnston, Iowa is the prime contractor on this project. Work includes
construction of a new bridge built in phases and additional grading, concrete paving, guardrail and
seeding work.
Traffic will be maintained with lane closures done in phases and temporary traffic signals will be used for
the construction of the new bridge. An 11-foot width restriction will be in effect. Anticipated completion is
November 2024.
The purpose of this project is to preserve the transportation asset, improve the reliability of the
transportation system and perpetuate the mobility of the traveling public.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
