Jorgenson Punches Ticket to 2024 NCAA Championships

Gena Jorgenson has been selected to represent the Huskers at the 2024 NCAA Championships, March 20-23 in Athens, Ga. The sophomore from Aberdeen, S.D., punched her ticket in the 1650 freestyle, 500 freestyle and 400 IM.

Jorgenson has accumulated five B standards in the 500 freestyle and earned a career-best at the Big Ten Championships, with a time of 4:41.19. She added three B cuts in the 1650 freestyle and notched her career-best time in the event (16:01.72). Both times are currency first on the all-time list for Nebraska.

She totaled three B standards throughout the season in the 400 IM and logged a career-best time with a 20th-place finish in the C final of the Big Ten Championships (4:14.78).

Events are slated to begin Wednesday, March 20 at 5 p.m. with the 200 medley relay and 800 freestyle relay. Individual events will begin on Thursday, March 21 at 9 a.m. with the 500 freestyle trials. Finals will take place at 5 p.m. All times are central.

Jorgensen will be competing in the 500 freestyle on Thursday, the 400 IM on Friday and the 1650 freestyle on Saturday.
