(Sutherland, Nebraska, October 17, 2023) – The Village of Sutherland Economic Development Program
will host an informational Open House and Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday October 24 from 7pm to 8pm
in the Village offices at 1200 First Street in Sutherland.
The Sutherland Economic Development Program created under Nebraska’s LB840 statute is funded by a
half-percent sales tax approved by the voters in May of 2022. Under the program, the Village of
Sutherland has created three initiatives to encourage economic growth. These include the Business
Development Loan and Grant, the Property Improvement Loan and Grant and the Digital Marketing
Grant. The Property Improvement Loan and Grant is designed to benefit both business owners and
residential property owners.
Sutherland residents and business owners are encouraged to attend to learn more about these
programs and to offer their concerns and suggestions for future Sutherland growth.
