RELEASE: North Platte Police Department
In Nebraska, 26 fatal crashes in 2020 involved drivers under the influence of drugs. In 2021, that number grew to 35! Law enforcement is trying to stop it.
From April 19th through April 23rd, the North Platte Police Department in partnership with the Nebraska Department of Transportation will be participating in a “Drug Impaired Driving” enforcement grant.
Additional officers will be on the streets and highways looking for traffic violations, with an emphasis on impaired driving.
The North Platte Police Department encourages impaired drivers to find alternate means of transportation, like catching a ride from a sober friend.
