The race for District 42 Nebraska State Legislature was called around 12:20 (CT) Wednesday morning, with results indicating a victory for appointed Senator Mike Jacobson. Soon after, Lincoln County Commissioner Chairman Chris Bruns, who had challenged Senator Jacobson for the job, officially conceded the race and congratulated the District 42 Senator. Bruns echoed those congratulatory thoughts later Wednesday morning at a joint press conference at NebraskaLand Bank’s conference room headquarters.
During the press conference Senator Jacobson discussed the importance of moving forward together.
Commissioner Bruns acknowledged that this campaign presented its fair share of challenges.
Senator Jacobson said the he and Commissioner Bruns will be working together moving forward and stressed that preparation for the upcoming Legislative Session is already underway.
