A North Platte man is dead and a 19-year-old woman has been arrested after an incident Thursday morning. On November 12th at 3:23 AM, officers with the North Platte Police Department responded to the 200 Block of West 1st, for a report of a stabbing that just occurred.
Upon arrival, Officers located the victim, identified as Bryce Wood. Officers also made contact with 19-year-old Harlie Saathoff, who was also on scene. Officers observed injuries on Wood consistent with being stabbed and immediately provided first aid.
North Platte Fire and Rescue arrived and began treating Wood. Wood was transported by ambulance to Great Plains Health and later succumbed to his injuries. Officers recovered a knife at the scene and determined there was probable cause to arrest Saathoff.
Saathoff was placed under arrest and incarcerated at the Lincoln County Detention for 2nd Degree Murder and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony.
