
Officers gathered evidence that led them to a North Platte resident, 34 year old Ryan Baade, and the suspect vehicle. Baade is suspected of driving while impaired and driving on a suspended driver’s license. Baade was arrested for driving under the influence, driving under suspension, and leaving the scene of an injury accident. Further charges are pending. Identification of the victim is pending notification next of kin.

A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and later pronounced dead this morning after an incident at the intersection of Rodeo Road and Willow. Names are not being released at this time, but a press released from the North Platte Police Department says that a 911 call was made at 6:43 AM on Friday (January 25th) from a witness in reference to a subject who had been hit by a car and the driver left the scene.
The victim was taken to the emergency room at Great Plains Health and were pronounced dead. Officers were quickly able to locate the suspect driver and vehicle and according to the press release, there is no further danger to the public.
The investigation is ongoing and updates will be released as they come available.
