North Platte, Neb. – The North Platte Community College softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader to McCook Community College on Friday.

McCook got on the board in the first inning and broke the game open with a nine-run fourth.
The Knights answered in the bottom half of the inning, scoring five runs on three hits. Heaven Hutchison capped the rally with an RBI single.
McCook added six more runs to close out the game.
Julia Leicht started in the circle for North Platte, pitching 4.2 innings and allowing 10 runs on 10 hits with one strikeout and three walks.

McCook scored in each of the first three innings, putting up one run in the first and three runs in both the second and third.
The Indians added one run in the fourth and four more in the fifth while holding North Platte to three hits.
Areliana Bravo started for the Knights, allowing seven runs on eight hits over 2.2 innings with one walk.
North Platte (3-33) continues Region 9 play on Tuesday against McCook Community College. First pitch scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Jaycees Sports Complex in McCook, Neb.
