
August 15, 2025 (Lincoln, Neb.) — During the month of July 2025, sixteen people were killed in traffic crashes on Nebraska roadways, according to data collected by the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
- These 16 fatalities occurred in 15 fatal crashes.
- Five of the eleven vehicle occupants killed were not using seatbelts, two were using a seatbelt, and four had seatbelt usage marked as unknown.
- Eight of the fatalities were in rural locations*.
- There were two fatalities on the interstate, six on other highways, and eight on local roads.
- Three of the fatalities were pedestrians.
- Two of the fatalities were motorcyclists.
- Two of the fatalities were driving all-terrain vehicles (ATV).
