The North Platte Police Department, in cooperation with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT), will participate in a high-visibility traffic enforcement campaign from July 12 through July 31.
This campaign will focus primarily on enforcing posted speed limits, aiming to reduce speed-related crashes and improve overall roadway safety. In 2023, speeding-related crashes accounted for 29% of all traffic fatalities nationwide.
The North Platte Police Department reminds all motorists to slow down and drive responsibly to ensure everyone arrives at their destination safely.
