Eight members of the Mid-Plains Community College Rodeo Team will complete at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyo. June 15-21.
“I am excited to showcase our talent against the best in the nation,” said head coach Aukai Kaai. “I think this team can really make something happen out in Casper and we are ready to get to work.”
The men’s rodeo team enters the CNFR ranked third in the nation behind Montana State University and New Mexico State University.
They captured the Great Plains Region title for the fourth time in five years and were also honored with the region’s College Rodeo of the Year at the conclusion of the regular season in May.
Qualifying members include:
Eli Higa – bull riding and team roping
Kahiwa Augustiro – bareback riding, bull riding and team roping
Trace Scarlavai – bull riding
Jackson Lunn – bareback riding
Cinch Painter – steer wrestling
Matt Miller – calf roping
Brady Renner – team roping
Ryan Shepherd – team roping
