
The Connection Homeless Shelter in North Platte broke ground on a plot of dirt next to the shelter last week. The land will be used to put tiny homes on, along with a community center, to serve homeless veterans in North Platte. The houses are being made by MPCC students in Ogallala. Executive Director of the Connection, Ashley Lewis, told Huskeradio the partnership between the shelter and Mid-Plains group in Ogallala(led by Mary Pierce) has enabled this idea to germinate sooner than originally planned:
