The Annual West Nebraska All Star games set for this Saturday, June 7th in Scottsbluff will feature a healthy amount of local athletes competing. The football game is in it’s 47th year and will be played at Bearcat Stadium at Scottsbluff High School with kickoff at 11 AM mountain time. The 41st annual volleyball game will follow at 3 PM mountain time at Western Nebraska Community College’s Cougar Palace.
Area athletes competing on the volleyball east team include North Platte St. Pat’s Reese Fleck and Cara Roberg, along with Brady’s Taryn Stearns and Medicine Valley’s Remington Stout. The west team includes Perkins County’s Libby Cole and Chase County’s Landree McNair and Olivia Spady. Coaches for the teams are Rebecca Stearns from Brady and North Platte Saint Pat’s Maddy Krebs. Leyton’s Natasha Haupt and Kristi McNair of Chase County will coach the west team.
On the football side, North Platte is sending five athletes to compete. Eli Broman, Logan Bussard, Jaxon Halverson, Breckin Torrez and Alonzo Torres highlight the east team, along with Gothenburg’s Jackson Daum, Zander Hruza, Maxwell Wyatt and Jackson Schwanz. Sandhills Valley is sending Leyton Connel and Colton Miller to compete and Sandhills-Thedford’s Tyson Hickman will compete as well.
