
Dec. 12, 2024 (Lincoln, Neb.) — Weather permitting, on Monday evening, Dec. 23, the westbound
lanes of I-80 will be closed at 8:00 p.m., according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
The closure is for the demolition of bridges over I-80 on NW 112th Street and NW 84th Street.
Hawkins Construction Co., of Omaha, is the contractor for the project. Westbound I-80 traffic will be
detoured at the I-80 / I-180 Interchange (Exit 401) and routed west on N-34 to Matzke Highway, turning
south and accessing I-80 at the Milford Interchange (Exit 382).
Detours will be removed, and I-80 traffic will resume by 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24. In the event of
bad weather conditions, this schedule will be revised.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, put phones down.
