Lincoln, NE – On September 16, Governor Jim Pillen proclaimed September as Child Welfare Workforce Development Month, highlighting the essential role of child welfare professionals in protecting children, strengthening families, and building safer communities.
The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Division of Children and Family Services (CFS), has prioritized training and professional development, ensuring staff are equipped with the tools, knowledge, and support they need to serve children and families.
“Our child welfare workforce shows up every day with commitment, heart, and professionalism,” said CFS Director, Dr. Alyssa Bish. “By investing in their workforce development, we strengthen our ability to support children and families during their most critical moments of need.”
CFS continues to prioritize workforce training and development to ensure every child welfare professional has the skills and confidence to respond with compassion, expertise, and resilience.
As we celebrate Child Welfare Workforce Development Month, DHHS also recognizes the growing need for passionate individuals to join this critical field.
