Central to lower Water Level at Jeffrey Reservoir

(HOLDREGE, Neb.)  – The Central Nebraska Public Power & Irrigation District will lower the water level at Jeffrey Reservoir near Brady, Neb., prior to hydro facility maintenance that is scheduled to begin on September 9.

The water level at Jeffrey will drop approximately nine feet starting on Sept. 2 ahead of the Jeffrey hydro outage which is scheduled to take place from Sept. 9-15. Lake water levels will begin to rise on Sept. 9 and should return to normal operating levels between Sept. 12-14.

While the lake is down, cabin owners who may wish to perform shoreline maintenace are reminded to contact Central to obtain any necessary permits prior to initiating such projects.

A drawdown at Johnson Lake is also being planned for September. An announcement on that event will be released in the upcoming week.

All drawdown events are subject to change depending on river flows and rain events.
