North Platte, Nebraska – Great Plains Health has been recognized by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE) as a Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement, highlighting the hospital’s commitment to high-quality orthopedic care.
This designation identifies healthcare facilities that meet strict standards for patient safety and deliver better health outcomes. The recognition is based on quality measures developed through a partnership between the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Patients who receive knee and hip replacement surgery at designated facilities like Great Plains Health experience 21% fewer hospital readmissions within 90 days, 21% fewer complications after surgery, faster recovery times and better overall outcomes.
To earn this recognition, Great Plains Health demonstrated full accreditation as a hospital, low complication and readmission rates, enhanced recovery programs for better patient care and participation in BCBSNE’s preferred provider network.
