
June 16, 2025 (Lincoln, Neb.) — During the month of May 2025, sixteen people were killed in traffic crashes on Nebraska roadways, according to data collected by the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
- These 16 fatalities occurred in 14 fatal crashes.
- Four of the thirteen vehicle occupants killed were not using seatbelts, six were using a seatbelt, and three had seatbelt usage marked as unknown.
- Fifteen of the fatalities were in rural locations*.
- There were three fatalities on the interstate, thirteen on other highways, and zero on local roads.
- Three of the fatalities were motorcyclists.
