Release from Lincoln County Sheriff Jerome Kramer

Thursday evening 6-12-25, Immigration Enforcement transported 63 immigrants to the Lincoln County Detention Center

They will be held here while they work through the process of having hearings to determine their future as eligible workers in the United States.  I agreed to accept the immigrants because I have access to the resources that they need in order to get processed as quickly and as accurately as possible.

A team has already been assembled to make sure that the process is fair and accurate.   The team consists of interpreters from Hope Esperanza and multiple legal aids. This team is no expense to Lincoln County.  It is my hope that if there are detainees that simply need to get their work status correct and complete, that our team can get that done.

If there are detainees that can be reunited with families and employers, we can make that happen.  I am confident that there is no facility that will work harder to get them on the right track.

We are not housing any violent criminals as a result of this decision.  The community and the other inmates are completely safe.
