September 10, 2024 (Lincoln, NEB.)  —  The Nebraska State Patrol has completed a summer-long awareness and enforcement effort focusing on drunk and drug-impaired driving. Troopers and dispatchers worked overtime, conducting high-visibility patrols in recreational areas around Troop H as part of the initiative.

During the campaign, which ran from May 25th through August 25th, troopers issued citations for speeding (17), no seat belt (2), no park permit (2), possession of less than 1-ounce of marijuana (1), improper child restraint (1), and use of handheld wireless communication device (1).

The effort included a focus on occupant protection and impaired driving. Nebraska State Patrol’s portion to this effort was made possible thanks in part to grant funding from the Nebraska Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office.
