The North Platte Police Department participated in the “And Then It Clicked”, high visibility, traffic enforcement campaign from May 20th 2024 to June 2nd, 2024. Department wide, North Platte Police Officers had 263 traffic contacts. Eighty-three drivers were issued citations. Seventeen citations were issued for seatbelt violations. Twenty-seven citations were issued for speeding violations, Eleven citations were issued for traffic control violations. Two people were issued citations for reckless driving. Eleven drivers were ticketed for operator’s license violations. Six drivers were arrested for Driving Under the Influence of alcohol. Four people were cited for possession of marijuana and approximately 55 grams of marijuana were seized.
