Salvation Army Sending Supplies to North Platte, Asks for Donations

The Salvation Army Western Division in Omaha, headquarters for a three-state region, has announced that they are sending Omaha-based personnel to North Platte to help provide support for evacuees of the wildfires there, as well as for the firefighters – and they will soon be working with local Salvation Army volunteers and others to provide a lunch-and-dinner feeding operation at the National Guard Armory starting Tuesday.

In response to the wildfires that have broken out near North Platte today, the Omaha-based Salvation Army Western Division is sending disaster-relief personnel and supplies from Omaha to North Platte. Starting Tuesday, Feb 27th, a Salvation Army group will be teaming up with a local church to provide lunch and dinner to evacuees as well as firefighters at the National Guard Armory (1700 N Jeffers Street).

Additionally, The Salvation Army is asking for community support in supplying snacks, Gatorade, and bottled water for as many as 500 firefighters responding to the wildfires
People who want to help can bring snacks, bottled water, and Gatorade to the Armory starting Tuesday morning.
