The North Platte Water Department has successfully completed the 30 days of chlorination mandated by the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (N.D.E.E.). Though we have ended chlorination, you may notice residual amounts of chlorine in the water until it has dissipated.
Even though the 30-day requirement has been completed, future chlorination can’t be ruled out and could be necessary. We will notify ahead of time, should the need to chlorinate the system arise in the future.
The North Platte Water Department’s goal is to provide our customers clean and safe drinking water, while avoiding mandatory full-time chlorination of our water system.
