The North Platte Water Department would like to remind its customers that when the outside temperature is below zero, as it is forecasted to be, to leave their water running to prevent the water service from freezing up.
Just a 1/8th inch stream of water running will prevent the main water service from freezing. This will save costly repair bills and the inconvenience of being without water. We have a device available at our office you can install in your toilet tank that will keep the water running constantly.
Please check your foundation vents to ensure they are closed. Check for cracks or openings that would allow the wind to blow under or into your crawlspace.
