At approximately 8:03 PM, the North Platte 911 Center received a report of a person being shot at a residence in the 300 block of S. Silber. The suspect was reportedly outside of the house with a handgun. The suspect left the house in a vehicle and was spotted by law enforcement a short time later. Near B St. and Lincoln Ave, the male suspect exited his vehicle and fired several shots at law enforcement. The suspect fled in his vehicle and was pursued. The suspect has wrecked his vehicle north of North Platte.
The shooting victim on S. Silber suffered injuries that were not life threatening.
Additional details will be released as the investigation continues.
At 9:42 PM, a suspect was taken into custody. The suspect is injured and appears to have been shot during an exchange of gunfire with law enforcement. He is being transported to GPH.
