The North Platte FNBO Nationals baseball program will host their annual Hall of Fame Weekend this week, including an intra-squad scrimmage on Thursday with an induction ceremony and concluding with their 4-man golf scramble on Saturday.
The game Thursday will be one 9-inning game, held at Bill Wood Field beginning at 6 PM. The two teams are made up of Juniors and Seniors, mixed and drafted by the two coaches.
The night will also induct five former players and coaches of the program into the Hall of Fame, including last year’s class. For the 2020 class, Pete Volz, Steve Martinez and Mitch Beyer will be inducted. In the 2021 class, Rick Logan and Toby Fleck will be honored. All will be honored during the 7th inning stretch of the game.
The four-man scramble is this Saturday, May 8th at Lake Maloney Golf Course and teams can download the form for sign up here. The scramble is $65 per person and includes golf entry free, cash flag prizes and a dinner afterwards.
The season for the Seniors will begin with a home doubleheader against Cheyenne on May 16th, while the Juniors begin May 22nd at home against Columbus.
