An Ogallala woman was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident near Hershey after reportedly jumping from a moving vehicle Monday evening. At 5:55 PM, authorities were called to Link 56 C, just south of Hershey where a subject was found lying in the roadway, unresponsive and with obvious injuries. After lifesaving techniques were attempted, the female was pronounced dead at the scene and identified as 45-year old Brandy Lewis of Ogallala.

Deputies from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office met with Mrs. Lewis’ husband, Ted Lewis and the driver of the vehicle. He told authorities that she decided to jump out the vehicle while it was in motion and he could not stop her. Mrs. Lewis was transported to Gibbon, Nebraska for an autopsy to be performed Tuesday afternoon. The investigation is ongoing.
