Mid-Plains Community College’s 57th annual Inter-High Day brought together over 500 students from 22 area high schools to North Platte on Tuesday.

They competed for scholarships and other prizes while taking tests in everything from art, accounting and criminal justice to auto body, welding and diesel technology. The scholastic contest was spread across both of MPCC’s North Platte campuses. Schools earned points based on how well their students placed in the academic divisions.

In recent years MPCC offered free credit hours for early entry classes as prizes. Because all early entry classes are now free, MPCC was able to offer scholarships for the top three placers this year in each category with $500 scholarships given for first-place winners, $250 for second place and $100 for third place.
