
March 19, 2025 (Lincoln, Neb.) — During the month of February 2025, seventeen people were killed in traffic
crashes on Nebraska roadways, according to data collected by the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
- These 17 fatalities occurred in 16 fatal crashes.
- Eight of the fourteen vehicle occupants killed were not using seatbelts, three were using a seatbelt, and
three had seatbelt usage marked as unknown. - Twelve of the fatalities were in rural locations*.
- There were two fatalities on the interstate, seven on other highways, and eight on local roads.
- Three of the fatalities were pedestrians.
