POSTPONED: Work on US-77, North and South of the I-80/56th Street Interchange, in Lancaster County

April 12, 2024 (Lincoln, Neb.) — Weather permitting, work will begin April 23 on US-77, from reference

post 70+80 to 73+05 and on L-55X, from reference post 2+00 to 2+67, according to the Nebraska

Department of Transportation

Mortenson of Minneapolis, Minn. is the prime contractor on this project. Work will include the installation

of temporary span signals in addition to installation of mast arms for new permanent traffic lighting.

Traffic will be maintained with temporary lane closures leading into a full closure of US-77 from reference

post 70+95 to 73+05. A detour for US-77 will be in place from 10:00 p.m. on April 23 until the anticipated

completion time of 2:00 a.m. on April 24. Traffic will be detoured to Arbor Road, N 70th Street, and

Waverly Road. See attached detour map.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
