The 43 feet tall, 7,000 pound golden spike made a stop in North Platte this past weekend and into Monday on its cross-country tour. Artist Douwe Blumberg tagged along for the trip that began in Lexington Kentucky and will end next week in Salt Lake City, Utah. The two-day event featured a public viewing of the spike along with some art filled-activities as well.
Monday featured a special presentation from the Golden Spikes Tower Foundation along with coffee and refreshments.
