
North Platte finished as a team in fourth at the Jo Dustako Track and Field Invite at Omaha Burke on Thursday, paced by speed and throwing on the boy’s team. The Bulldog’s Seniors Vince Genatone and Nic Davis led the way with three gold medals, with Genatone winning the 100 meter dash, while Davis swept the shot put and discus events.
As a team, North Platte finished with 73 points, behind Creighton Prep who won the invite at 94. Genatone ran a 10.93 in the 100 to claim gold, also a member of the winning 4×1 relay for the Bulldogs as well. Davis dominated the shot put field, easily winning the event with a throw of 55′ even. He also claimed the discus title, with a throw of 165-3″.
Leading way for North Platte girls, who finished as a team in sixth with 31 points, was Junior Carly Purdy, who claimed the high jump title with a jump of 5’0 even.
