Speeding endangers everyone on the road. In 2024, 11,288 people died in speeding related crashes, nationwide. Consequences of speeding include: Greater potential for loss of vehicle control, Reduced effectiveness of occupant protection equipment, Increased stopping distance & Increased degree of crash severity. The North Platte Police Department asks drivers to slow down and enjoy the drive.
On July 10th through July 12th, additional officers will be on the streets of North Platte, enforcing our traffic laws, with a particular emphasis on moving violations, speeding, traffic signals etc. This NDOT funded enforcement will coincide with the CruiseFest activities.
