I-80 Fire Extinguished; No Structures or Livestock lost

The I-80 fire which started around 2pm Thursday burned for about 3 hours and consumed 280-300 acres of farmland southwest of Paxton.

Volunteer Firefighters from Paxton, Ogallala, Grant, Madrid, Elsie, Hershey, Sutherland and Keystone-Lemoyne responded to the call, and also several farmers with discs helped contain the blaze and eventually extinguish it. No buildings or livestock were lost due to the fire.
