Mike Douty with the Heartland Singers came on Mugs Monday to talk about their concert coming up Sunday.
“Songs of Faith and Freedom” will be the group’s theme, with gospel standards such as Fly Away Medley, Sing Me to Heaven, and How Great Thou Art sung by the well-known group, mixed in with patriotic classics like The Battle Hymn of the Republic, Salute to Armed Forces medley, and God Bless America.
Sunday’s concert commences at 3pm at the Episcopal Church of our Savior, 203 W. 4th street in North Platte. Freewill donations to help defray the group’s expenses are encouraged, but there is no admission fee.
