North Platte Police Department Investigating Reported Sexual Assault

The North Platte Police Department understands the concern this report may bring to members of our community. The safety of our residents is our top priority, and this incident is currently under active investigation.

On the evening of Tuesday, March 10, 2026, the North Platte Police Department received a report of a sexual assault that reportedly occurred at approximately 5:45 p.m. along the South Platte River bicycle and pedestrian walking trail at a location west of South Jeffers Street. The report involves an adult female victim and an adult male suspect.

The North Platte Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is actively investigating this incident and utilizing all available resources to gather information and identify the suspect. At this time, investigators do not have a suspect description available for release.

We are asking anyone who was in the area of the walking trail during that time and may have seen or heard anything suspicious to come forward with any information that could assist investigators.
