Lamar, Colo. – North Platte closes out their four-game series with Lamar with a pair of losses on Sunday.
Lamar 7 North Platte 3
In game one, Lamar struck first in the bottom of the second inning, plating three runs to take an early lead. North Platte responded in the third when Heaven Hutchison drove in the Knights first run on a fielder’s choice.
The Runnin’ Lopes extended their lead with a run in the third and three more in the fourth to build a 7-1 advantage. North Platte added two runs in the seventh inning following a Lamar error, but the comeback attempt fell short.
Kaylee Davis took the loss for the Knights, pitching six innings and allowing seven runs (six earned) on seven hits while striking out one and walking two.

North Platte came out swinging in the second game, scoring two runs in the top of the first inning on doubles by Nayely Duran and Sarah LeBere. Lamar answered quickly, tying the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the frame.
The game turned in the fourth when the Runnin’ Lopes erupted for eight runs to take a commanding 10-2 lead.
The Knights continued to battle, scoring two runs in the fifth, one in the sixth, and two more in the seventh, but the late rally wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit.
Danica Unger started in the circle for North Platte, pitching six innings while allowing 10 runs (nine earned) on 12 hits with two walks. Duran drove in three runs for the Knights, while Victoria Arellano had a perfect game at the plate, going 4-for-4.
Knights (1-5) will continue their season as they travel to Council Bluffs, Iowa to take on Kankakee Community College on Friday. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
