North Platte PD Arrest Suspect for Thefts From Businesses

On 12-03-25, a NPPD officer responded to a business located in the 3300 block of S. Jeffers regarding a theft.  Investigation showed that a subject purchased tires from the business using a credit card on two occasions, 11-11-25 and again on 11-13-25.  Combined the two transactions totaled about $3000.  The credit card transactions were found to be fraudulent.

On 12-29-25, a NPPD officer responded to a business located in the 1000 block of Prospect Drive regarding a reported theft.  The information received indicated that a subject made three credit card purchases of tires from the business over the course of 3 weeks totaling about $6500.  The credit card transactions were found to be fraudulent.  The business was out approximately $6500.

On 01-27-26, a NPPD officer responded to a business in the 3800 block of S. Jeffers regarding a theft.  Investigation showed that a subject fraudulently used a credit card to make three purchases of tires from the business totaling approximately $13,000.

The suspect identified in the thefts was Guillermo Goytia-Avitia age 57 of North Platte.

On 01-28-26, investigators saw a pickup leave Goytia-Avitia’s residence with numerous tires in the back.  A traffic stop was conducted by LCSO deputies and Goytia-Avitia was detained along with an adult female.  Several of the tires matched those taken from the thefts.  Guillermo Goytia-Avitia was arrested for Theft by Deception $5000+ a Class IIA Felony.  Goytia-Avitia was incarcerated in the Lincoln County Detention Center.

At around 4:00 P.M. on 01-28-26, NPPD officers served a search warrant on the Goytia-Avitia residence located in the 400 block of W 8th.  As a result of the search warrant, several more stolen tires were located and records were seized.  This investigation is on-going.
