North Platte’s Sterling Wins 400, Bulldog Boys Finish 10th

The North Platte boy’s track team finished in 10th place as a team at the State Meet on Thursday, finishing with 28.5 points. Elkhorn South was the Class A boy’s champion. The Bulldogs were led by Kymani Sterling, who won the 400 meter dash, took 4th in the 100, 8th in the 200 and was a member of the Bulldog 4×1 relay that finished 5th. Jack Oettinger finished 7th in pole vault as well. Teammate Nic Davis earned points for North Platte, finishing 4th in shot put and 7th in discus.

The leader for the Lady Bulldogs was Carly Purdy, who just missed out on scoring finishing 9th in long jump. Full results from the Class A state meet are here.

In Class D, North Platte Saint Pat’s and Mullen each had solid meets, placing as a team in both boy’s and girls. Mullen’s boys team came in second with 37 points, behind champion Riverside. St Pats came in 8th as a team. For girls, Mullen finished 4th while the Irish were 5th. Full results from the Class D meet are here.

The Class C and B meets begin Friday and conclude on Saturday.
