North Platte Police Release Click it or Ticket Campaign Results

From May 15th to June 4th, the North Platte Police Department participated in the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Safety Administration’s “Click it or Ticket” high-visibility enforcement effort.

Department Wide, a total of 259 traffic contacts were made and a total of 82 citations were issued.  Out of the 82 citations, three arrests were made for DUI-alcohol, one for felony DUI drugs, and two for minor in possession of alcohol.

Thirty-one citations were issued for speeding, two citations were issued for careless driving, seven were issued for violation of traffic control devices, two were issued for possession of marijuana and seven were issued for driving under suspension.

Five drivers were arrested on outstanding warrants.

A pre-enforcement survey was conducted showing a 39% seat belt compliance rate. A post-enforcement survey was conducted showing a 55% seat belt compliance rate.
