NPCC Softball Players Recognized for Academics

Nine members of the North Platte Community College Knights Softball Team have been recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association for their efforts in the classroom. According to a press release from Mid-Plains Community College, they are: Ellie Toelle, of Maxwell; Janay Brauer, of Sidney; Taelyn Dakamas, of Wailua, Hawaii; Gracie Hodgson, of Olds, Alberta; Jayden Horner, of Firestone, Colo.; Lili Kukučková, of Vienna, Austria; Elena Montoya, of Denver, Colo.; Cameron Rollison, of Anchorage, Alaska and Jenny Singer, of Calgary, Alberta. All were named 2021-22 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes in the Junior College division. As a whole, the Knights ranked 35th in terms of team GPA with a 3.25. “These are the awards that make us coaches the proudest,” said NPCC Softball Head Coach Janelle Higgins. “We preach about how important grades are, and when the athletes buy in and do the work, it makes it all worth it.”
